Role Models: On Friday of last week, Barren County Health Department threw the 8th annual Longest Day of Play to encourage physical activity in local youth. More than 100 kids were dropped off to spend time with adult and high school volunteers. One young child refused to play with the other kids, instead choosing to sit alone under a tree. Instead of leaving him out, a pair of high school students sat next to the boy for nearly a half hour just so he could experience friendship, too.
